DT Nguyen

CEO & Founder

With over three decades of experience in healthcare, I have had the pleasure of building a career across multiple facets of the industry. From revenue cycle management to pharmacy and medical management, clinical decision support, and information exchange, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most influential healthcare organizations in the world.

In the early days of my career, I founded and served as CEO of U.S. HealthData Interchange (now part of Emdeon Inc.), a healthcare technology company that pioneered the first national healthcare information exchange. In subsequent years, I held senior executive roles at IPN Network L.P. and FoxMeyer Health Corporation (acquired by McKesson in 1996), two of the largest wholesale drug distributors in the country. These experiences allowed me to understand how different parts of the industry interacted with one another and were pivotal in shaping my perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the healthcare landscape.

In 1998, I had a vision for the future of revenue cycle management (RCM) and founded XactiMed, Inc. to bring my ideas to life. Under my leadership, we achieved the top ranking from KLAS® and ultimately caught the attention of MedAssets, Inc., which acquired us in 2007. Over the next three years, I served as President of MedAssets' revenue cycle management business (now FinThrive Revenue Systems, LLC). With my guidance and direction, MedAssets grew to new heights, achieving multiple #1 KLAS® rankings, participating in a successful NASDAQ IPO, and becoming one of the most respected RCM organizations in the country.

I started Koan Health, Inc. in 2012 to help health systems and accountable care organizations succeed in the value-based care environment. Our goal was to help patients take charge of chronic conditions by equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed for early intervention. We are now integral to the industry's transformation as more providers migrate toward value-based reimbursement models.

My experience has shown me that the healthcare industry is constantly evolving and that success lies in understanding the nuances of the market, staying ahead of trends, and being agile in the face of change. I'm constantly looking for new ways to provide value to clients. I sit on the Board of Managers at JPS Health Network (JPS Hospital) and on the Advisory Board at Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (U.T. Southwestern Medical Center) and Valor Veterans Foundation to ensure I remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
